Description

Re-engineered to take you higher and deeper than ever before, the new Atlas 12 Series snowshoes feature Atlas' most aggressive traction system yet while maintaining hallmark Atlas durability and comfort. Literally armed to the teeth with new traction – the 12 Series’ tenacious, stainless steel Zodiac toe crampon deeply penetrates even the firmest snow, while the weight-activated, StabiLock Rear Traction optimizes weight distribution to its serrated traction elements, for sure footing on the most technical terrain. The men’s and women’s Wrapp Pro bindings feature FlowTape silicone straps that glide through low-friction buckles with a smooth buckle release for easy on-off use. The 7075 aluminum frame is the lightest, strongest tubing available, and the variable ReactiV forming lends a stiffer, more responsive flex. To build on a legacy as storied as the 12 Series required us to design a snowshoe equipped to write the next chapter in Mountain Hiking performance.

Best binding in a snowshoe I ever used,

Comments about Atlas 12 Series Snowshoes:

The binding snugged up with no effort at all. Snowshoes were very light in weight. How they perform in deep snow is unknown due to we had only 10 inches of snow this year.

      Comments about 12 Series Snowshoes:

As a first time snowshoer I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am with the Atlas series 12 30 snowshoes. I have used them three times in a wide of variety of conditions and have found them for the most part no better and more dangerous than just using snowboots or hiking boots. Their flotation is horrible. They sink up to 1 foot or more in fresh snow. Their overall design is terrible. Once they start sinking they cut right through the snow like a butter knive. I have sank all the way to my hip in these things. Their traction on virtually all but the most timid conditions is horrible. Their build quality is horrible. Used three times and a pin already fell out of the binding release strap. By the way the paint also scratches very easily. To end on a positive note they look nice before you scratch them up, the binding is wonderful and easy to use before it breaks, and they are lightweight. I will be returning them immediatly

        Comments about 12 Series Snowshoes:

Great shoe - With pack for a multi-overnighter, am nearly 300lbs on the hoof. provides plenty of flotation in the soft stuff, strong traction and stability in the crusty and icy stuff. The heel lifts are a nice bonus for the longer ascents. A great, durable shoe for all your needs!
