This was used for an early season trek into the Beartooth Range of Montana. I was looking for a viable and more reliable alternative to the liquid pump style of backpacking stoves. While the flame control on the Trangia burner takes getting used to, at least you've got flame choices that are between "off" and "volcano with afterburner". Expect about 15 minutes of cooking time per fueling if you turn the heat down some, and I carry a second burner element for connvenience and safety while camping.

It's a quite well made set and it's obvious that a lot of thought went into the design and construction.

I have used Trangia 25 stoves since the 70s, in all kinds of weather, in the Scandinavian Mts summer and winter, on car camping trips along the Appalachians. They are simple to set up, extremely stable, always fires up and very safe. The maintenance is minimal with no moving parts. Though it has a temperature control, it is not very easy to operate and the stove (with all the pots) is not light. It originally was called "stormkök", "stormkitchen" because no wind could blow it out. I will add its multifuel burner to my outfit, to access more fuels. I gave my first to my daughter and am on my second stove.
