I have been using a men's Solomon day back for backpacking, and when it finally bit it, I decided to upgrade to a better-fitting pack. At an even 5 feet tall, the packs I've used in the past tend to stick way up behind my head while the straps slide off one shoulder or the other. An internet search indicated that a Deuter pack might be a better option for me. I found this one online, tried it on locally, and ordered it from CampSaver as theirs was the lowest price anywhere. The pack is big enough for a week-long backpacking trip if you go super ultralight (20 lbs or so max). The straps and hipbelt are padded nicely, the main compartment has a top and bottom zipper, and there are several other zippered compartments and pockets for good organization. After loading up the pack and adjusting it accordingly, I had zero slippage or unwanted movement over 11 miles and 2000 feet of elevation gain. It's simply a bonus that the blue color is really brilliant in person.
