Big Agnes Air Core sleep pads are designed to provide years of comfortable nights in the backcountry. The air chamber pads have gained a huge following due to their light weight and small packed size. Big Agnes Air Core Pads are your ideal summer sleeping pad. They have been updated for 2013 with lighter weight and a bit louder red color. Available in short, petite, regular and long as well as mummy and rectangular cut.

            I am wanting to order a sleeping pad. Your descriptions show the dimensions but the cart selection options show "regular, long, etc." How do I know which one to order (what size I am asking for?

              We will update the chart on the product page. The short is 20x48, petite is 20x64, regular is 20x72, and long is 20x78. The difference with the mummy pads is that they taper from the hip to the feet.

          Technology Used In The Air Core Sleeping Pad

          R-Value

          R-Value is a measurement of thermal resistance, or in other words, how well an insulator functions. A higher R-Value means more efficient insulation and a warmer product. For example, a highly insulated sleeping pad may have an R-Value of 5.7 or higher, making it good for four season use. An R-Value of 2 would indicate a much less efficient insulation and a sleeping pad that would be best for three season use.

          Inflatable Sleeping Pads

          Inflatable sleeping pads utilize various cells or air chambers to provide a comfortable night's rest. An inflatable sleeping pad is different from a self-inflating sleeping pad, because it lacks the layer of expanding foam and will need to be inflated manually. A stuff sack or one of many inflating devices will speed up the process.
