I was looking for the right approach boots for a Grand Teton climb, so I bought 3 different styles and tried them all out (even wearing one kind on one foot and a different one on the other, then switching) over two weekends of hiking, rock climbing, rapelling and via ferrata at Red River Gorge. Of the three, these are the ones I decided to keep. For approach boots, they performed surprisingly well for rock climbing thanks to the sticky rubber soles and climbing shoe-like toe rand. For hiking I found the ankle support to be excellent and the soles firm enough to handle a variety of terrain. The only issue I had with these is that they're a bit on the narrow side (as I find is often the case for women's boots) so I'll have to put them on the boot stretcher I have for that purpose.

Really cushioned fit

I purchased this product for hiking/backpacking. I have a particularly hard time with finding shoes in general because I have a skinny ankle, but wide toes. I purchased a few boots and this did the best job of hugging my ankle and providing enough toe room. I think a big part of this is because of the stretchy cushion on the ankle.
