So far used for flying coast-to-coast, day outings to Disneyland, etc. Lightweight, yet sturdy enough to hold a full-day's gear for two adults and a 3 y.o. Snacks, shells, extra clothes, two nice big water bottle pockets, super convenient, lined "sunglass" pocket (which I use for more than my glasses). The lined, waterproof outer pocket came in handy when we got soaked on some water rides. Just a great pack. Only con would be it was a bit of a pain to get to the "organizer" pockets at times, since they are on the "outside" (facing into the pack) of the large pocket. Not a deal breaker by any means, but if you're constantly getting into and out of your pack, keep it in mind. Major PRO: love the large, almost oversize shoulder straps. Very comfortable.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I ADORE this day pack because it is so easy to use and has great features. Everyone asks about it and i love it. I ride my bike pretty much everywhere and its light but still can hold all my things. One great feature is the organizer in the big pocket! The pack is totally waterproof and has a great front pocket for muddy shoes, because the pocket has some trap-type material so it wont damage the bag or other items stored. I love the color, workmanship and everything about this Pack and it deserves to be labeled Patagonia.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
