      Comments about Cirro Pants:

A little tight in the thighs, Brooks Range missed the mark on these. Loosen up a bit guys! Literally! Give us one extra inch of room in the thighs and crotch and it's a home run on these pants. I'm going to keep mine anyway as the pertex material does have some slight stretch and as I wear them they will break in some like any clothes do.

They are really light, great for the UL type of person. Just if your muscular, fit and in shape and have athletic legs and not a bean pole, they are going to be slightly tight for you in the thighs and crotch. To me these pants were designed for the skinny guy with bean stalk legs.

Being as I bought these specifically to use as a layer under my rain shell in the fall alpine weather in AK, I can live with it being a little snug as the only other layer I'll be wearing is a lightweight merino or capilene long underwear. I may even do some DIY on the crotch area and inner thighs and open them up and inch myself with my trusty sewing machine.

The length is good, I can live with 1/3 leg zips for the purposes these are meant for and they are really warm. The fit though kills the review.

        Comments about Cirro Pants:

I was prepared to be really happy with these as a replacement for my old Montbell UL Thermawrap pants, which had long side zips and a loose fit you could move well in, even over other layers. They were awesome to throw on at windy rest stops while fast-packing in cold weather, and to hang out in camp in. Sadly, Montbell took away the side zips on the UL pants, and the Tec version is heavier than I want. It really pains me then to say these are so tight on my moderately beefy quads (is 22" around really that big?) that I can barely move in them, let alone squat, and the side zips are only 24" instead of the 32" listed on Brooks Ranges' site. The point of the long zips is to get them on and off over mountaineering boots or sneakers without a struggle. The leg zips also snagged on the windflap material first time I used them. They seem good quality pants, but they're too tight for me to use, and the knee height side zips don't serve any function that an ankle zip wouldn't, but still won't let shoes in and out.
