Campsaver keeps finding solutions to the questions that I've been asking for years. Like why doesn't someone come up with a (fill in the blank) to improve this situation? This time it's the Chair Kit by Outdoor Research. My wife made an air matress cover for me a long time ago out of an old bed sheet. It served the dual purpose of keeping the matress clean and was a more comfortable sleeping surface, especially in warm weather with just your skivies on. Now this item comes along and does the same but has a third purpose as a recliner. When I'm caught in inclement weather and forced to take shelter inside my tent for longer than I'd like, I read. Now I can do it sitting up instead of lying down and holding the book over my head. If its a heavy book and I fall asleep reading, the book doesn't hit me in the head anymore. Seriously, this cover provides a comfortable sleeping surface and protects my Exped Downmat 9. It also keeps the matress from sliding around and finally it serves as a chair that can be used INSIDE the tent. What will they think of next?

This chair kit is perfect for the camping I do. I like to read at night and the chair kit allows me to sit in comfort and not have to be trying to find a comfortable position to read when I'm laying down. Setup was easy. However, breakdown when leaving the Exped Downmat 9 in the cover/chair kit was not as easy as the manufacturer's video shows. I just couldn't seem to get enough air out and the combo was too tight a fit to go back into the bag easily. In fact I ripprd the bag a little. Separating them was easier breakdown for me. I like the fact that the cover protects my investment in the Downmat as well. Overall this was a great purchase and a good value.

works well for what it is however when you lean back its not the most comfortable chair. still I consider this a must for me since i own one of their mats.
