Description

Recycled foam cylinders give these inflatable Exped ComfortFoam mattresses loft and warmth. Much thicker than standard foam pads, they offer you more protection from the ground and more insulation from the cold. A built-in pump inflates the mat quickly at night. Great for bascamp and car camping.

Exped has a great product here. This is on inflatable mattress that keeps you warm and off the ground. It is filled with foam pellets that insulate you really well from cold surfaces. separate inflation and deflation valves eliminate re-filling of the foam when you are rolling the mattress up. Once the air is out, it does not sneak back in. The result is a very satisfactory rolling up of the mattress the forst time without the struggle.

the mat i have does not look like the one in the video/pictures. there are no images of hands for where to pump, and there are two air valves on either side with a tag showing open and closed only. help, how do i "pump' it up?

  When did you purchase your pad? Are you certain you have the ComfortFoam? You'll place one hand over the side valve and your other hand above it, then move your hands up and down to create the pumping action.

Technology Used In The ComfortFoam Mat

R-Value

R-Value is a measurement of thermal resistance, or in other words, how well an insulator functions. A higher R-Value means more efficient insulation and a warmer product. For example, a highly insulated sleeping pad may have an R-Value of 5.7 or higher, making it good for four season use. An R-Value of 2 would indicate a much less efficient insulation and a sleeping pad that would be best for three season use.

Inflatable Sleeping Pads

Inflatable sleeping pads utilize various cells or air chambers to provide a comfortable night's rest. An inflatable sleeping pad is different from a self-inflating sleeping pad, because it lacks the layer of expanding foam and will need to be inflated manually. A stuff sack or one of many inflating devices will speed up the process.
