I would have kept these pants, but they were just too long. I wear a 32" inseam, and these seemed to be easily 34".

These would be really good pants for warm weather, because the fabric is very light, and would probably breath/dry well.

One other thing I didn't like about these pants: They wrinkle very easily.

The Marmot Cruz Pant is an awesome Spring, Summer & Fall hiking pant. I have hiked in them here at home in Northern Utah and in the mountains of Alaska. Alaska during the summer of course, but it was still about 50 degrees and rain on/off. These pants are thin but durable, that doesn't mean you can go sliding down a slick rock in Moab on your butt, they are just well built and stand up to serious hiking, even in thick brush, I haven't ripped them yet. I like that the pockets are zippered, sometimes buttons or open pockets just can't handle a rugged climb or hike. I also appreciated the soft material around the inside of the waist, and the belt loops. Those pants with a draw strings or strap style sewn in belts, kinda suck, in my opinion, cuz I always have to readjust them.

Yes the sizing is a bit off. But HERE IS THE SOLUTION: if you are a 36-ish waist, but a 34. Just buy a size lower than your own and you should be fine. Hiking pants should never be baggy, they should fit well and not be too tight or baggy. I usually buy a 36x30 or the 36x32 in the traditional Dickies brand "874" work pants. However, I found that the "34-short" Marmot Cruz Pants fit the best (I am 5'10" 185lbs). Don't forget the length, these pants can be rolled if needs be, but due to the material, they can come unrolled easily, and besides who wants to roll their hiking pants? The pants seemed to run long to me, but then again I have stubby legs. Without a doubt, when the size is right these pants are AWESOME! I got these pants instead of the Marmot Cruz Convertible Pants, cuz I think convertible pants are never really long enough… and these pants are so light and pack down so small as to make them the perfect thing to bring on a hike when you might be switching between shorts and pants.

These pants are so comfortable that I also recommend them for traveling when in a plane, train or automobile. They feel like your pajamas but you don't look like you're dressed to watch Saturday morning cartoons!
