I am a big guy, 6'2" - 350lbs. I needed a quality bag that was was comfortable, roomy, and warm. This bag has plenty of room for me to move around in. I also purchased the wedgie for additional room. I really like the air pad that fits into the bottom of the bag. I have the Big Agnes insulated air core pad, it is 25"x77". It is nice to not roll off your bag during the night. You do need to purchase a pad for this bag, there is no insulation at the bottom of this bag. The pad serves as your insulation.
I spent the week after Christmas camping with Boy Scouts, the temperatures ranged from the low 20's to low 30's. I stayed warm and comfortable.
My experience with Campsaver was great. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

will the ExPed mat, 77.5 x 26 x 3.5 in, fit in the Big Angus Deer Park 30 degree long bag? For the bag, it says the pad should be 25 inches wide and this pad is listed at 26?

  Yes, it will be fine. The Exped DownMat 9 DLX (LW) fits fine in the Hogan Park, so it should work equally well in the Deer Park.

  I'm not sure what pad you are referring to, but you are correct on the Big Agnes Deer Park. You'll need a pad with a 25 inch width. More than that and you may struggle to make it fit.

Technology Used In The Deer Park 30 Sleeping Bag (600 down)

Baffled Construction

Baffles are chambers created between the outer shell and inner liner of a sleeping bag or jacket. These chambers hold the insulation and create an even distribution, preventing unwanted grouping of insulation. There are different types of baffles. A "stitched-through" baffle joins the outer shell and inner liner together by means of direct stitching. Heat loss through seams is a disadvantage of the stitched through baffle. Optimal warmth is achieved through the use of a "box wall" style baffle. This method uses additional material between the outer and inner materials to create a wall that unites the two layers and creates a slightly larger and more uniform baffle. Different variations on the box wall positioning create a variety of advanced baffle systems.

Down Insulation

Water foul, like geese and duck, actually provide one of the most efficient forms of insulation available. Down is the light, fluffy undercoating at the base of the feathers of waterfowl. Down is a multi-dimensional structure that insulates by creating pockets of still air that retain body heat. Down is highly breathable and exceptionally comfortable. It is longer lasting and much more compressible than synthetic insulation. A disadvantage of down insulation is its loss of efficiency in wet conditions. It will also take much longer to dry than a synthetic insulation. Down is available in different fill powers. Fill power is defined by the amount of loft that is gained under loft test conditions. The higher the fill power number the greater the loft and the greater the performance of the down insulation. Fill powers may range from 500 fill to 900+ fill power.
