Comments about Mountain Hardwear Desna Jacket - Mens:

i live next to a creek on the edge of state game lands in northeastern PA. i spend ALOT of time wandering the mountains and streams all year round. i got this jacket the first week of march and immediately headed to the forrest to test it out. it was a wet environment from melting snow/ice and a light rain in the morning, and i immediately realized how un-water resistant the "fleece" was. the drops falling from the rocks and trees went right through the sleeves and got my arms wet. then a slight breeze started to blow and the air went right through the incredibly thin jacket. the hood does not fit like a balaclava as advertised (it comes up to chin level, not mouth, and deffinately not nose), and it fits loosely on the sides of your head with no way to tighten it, so it catches the wind when walking into it. all around this "fleece" (more like a very thin sweatshirt with a soft interior) is a complete waste of money. i keep trying to like it to justify spending the money on it, but it's too thin to be of any outdoor use to me. the only positoves i can find are that it's lightweight and packs small, but has virtually zero functionality as an insulating layer, wich is what a fleece is suppose to be.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Desna Jacket - Mens:

This is a great layer on it's own or with the right base layer it's super warm in winter conditions. Only a down pour would force a shell.
