    Comments about EVO Tour:

Just got 'em @ a great price from CampSaver. I've had other brands and liked them, but hiked in snow several times with a friend who had MSRs and witnessed firsthand their advantages for traction and the heel lifters. Can't wait to use them this season!

      Comments about EVO Tour:

The MSR Evo Tour snow shoes are easy to put on once you take 20 minutes to get them set up properly. The middle strap clip however is exceptionally easy to lose however as there is little provision to retain it on the strap. There ought to be a retaining mechanism on there. You can make one of your own but why they don't include one, I don't know. The first time I went to use them I had to leave them in the car and hike without them because it had fallen off. The rear strap clip is not much better. I would look harder at the other brands if I were to purchase snow shoes again, though I have been happy with my purchase otherwise.

      Comments about EVO Tour:

I purchased a pair of these to compliment my MSR Lightning Ascent snowshoes so I'd have a second pair for the girlfriend or whoever else wanted to join but didn't have a pair of their own.
I snowshoe on the days when nobody else wants to be out in Vermont. I abuse my gear in sub-zero conditions, chest high powder, and on rocky mountain tops.
I have the 22" size, it may be the only one they make this model in.
      What I think about them:
Good traction, better than the lightning ascent on steep terrain.
They attach securely, but adjusting them is not fun or easy in the field. Plan ahead and fit them before you leave the house.
They are sturdy and seem durable despite the plastic frame.
Heel strap doesn't stay put as well as those on the Lightning Ascent without a heel welt designed for snowshoes/crampons. I haven't seen it fall off yet, but it definitely has a tendency to slip down.
They are a little heavy for my taste, but for their price range, they seem to be a competitive weight.
Finally, the heel elevator bar is a wonderful accessory, but MSR makes two different ones that I've seen. One has no pull tab and is meant to be raised/lowered with the handle of your pole. These have the kind that's meant to be moved with your hands, there's a little pull-tab on it you need to grab to adjust them.
The style these have is stiffer, maybe they break in after a while, but I wouldn't count on it. So it can be sometimes difficult to raise/lower when your fingers get cold or you have on thick gloves/mittens.

All in all, for the price I paid for these, they are fantastic. Were it not for the near impossibility of adjusting the toe strap if need be in the field, they'd get 5 stars.
