Love this jacket. Affordable, but durable and a well-designed soft shell. Great for winter sports in an intermountain climate. Sheds moisture really well, so unless you are in a really wet snow or a downpour, this jacket would be all you need. Pit zips are a nice addition for skinning up in the backcountry, and I really like the large opening in the cuff design to fit over ski gloves. The hood cinch gives the hood a tight fit and the wire brim is a great feature. The fit is an athletic fit, and a medium is perfect for me at 5'9", 150, and allows for a down vest under without any problem. Really appreciate that it gives me enough room around my face for the chair-ride up. Seems to be really well constructed and durable. Great all-around jacket that will definitely be my go-to in the mountains fall, winter, and spring.

I like that the hood is large enough to fit over a helmet. A lot of jackets say they can do this, bur really aren't big enough for a L/XL ski helmet. Unfortunately, the size medium arms/shoulders are too tight for layers and free movement fpr me, even though I am not very big in that area. I stepped up to a large, and it works, but is pretty baggy for the rest of the fit.

I use the jacket as a potective layer against drizzling rain or as insulation under a full waterproof jacket in case of stronger precipitation. it is pratical as well as for skiing as for hiking. the two front pockets are "napoleon" style, so you can reach them even when carriyng a back pack. the cut of the hood provides perfect protection against cold. weight is o.k.
