I wanted a lightweight pump to inflate my Synmat UL 7. The pillow pump did the trick. It was easy to use and inflated my air mattress quickly. I was suprised by how big it was and the weight of the item. I almost sent it back due to the weight.In the past, I used clothes rolled in a stuff sack. Not comfortable. I find myself waking frequently to shift the clothes and sack around for a better position - which is rarely found. Then I used the pillow pump. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 10 for pillow comfort. I like the fact that I can inflate/deflate to my softness level. Since sleeping is 1/4 to 1/3 of a 24 hour period I belive that a better sleep outweights the weight of the pillow pump. I will pack it on my next trip.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Using a pump with the Exped Synmat UL keeps moisture and subsequent mold, mildew, smells, etc from inside the mat. Easy to use when I'm short on breathe. Wish it was twice as thick. I have to wrap it in a puffy to get enough pillow size.
