It's simple, and it works

Comments about GPS Satellite Messenger:

The upgraded SPOT 2 works great. Small and light; easy set up and initialization online; and battery life seems descent so far. Like any GPS device, it doesn't work indoors or under cover, due to not being able to see the sky. I've found it to work everywhere I've gone so far on my KLR 650, both on and off road.

I got a year's worth of trip tracking via an on-line promo from an organization, and honestly, for me, I don't have any use for it. It just keeps the unit on all the time, sending a track location every 10 minutes. It's quite enough that I can send a message with GPS coordinates any time I choose, (ie, once a day!) and that the message can be accessed via phone, email, or the web by friends, family, etc.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
