Just used this tent at Sequoia NP in the Sierra Nevada. I was looking for a tent that was somewhat sturdier than my Copper Spur (which gave me some worries on windy nights), but still offering a hight space to weight ratio for 2 persons; the Hat Trick 2P did not let me down. It feels like a hybrid between a mountaineering tent and backpacking tent, taking some elements from each. The sturdy 3-pole design (with two poles crossing a primary pole), partial pole sleeves, and an adjustable fly that securely attaches to each foot via straps at the poles at strategic spots via velcro ensures a sturdy, strong, windproof shelter (there are also plenty of guy lines and stakes included for each!). Meanwhile, thanks to the carbon fiber poles and the interior mesh design, the tent is suprisingly lightweight and spacious. I had plenty of room for me, my girlfriend, and our gear.

Ventilation was fine and I did not have any condensation dripping on me in the morning, although there was of course some slightly beading up on the interior of the fly; the mesh interior and the fact that the fly does not quite reach the ground at rear-side allows for some air flow, particularly if you open the fly door slightly at the top as designed. That said, it did not feel breezy.

As far as cons, I'd say this solid, smart tent is not the quickest or easiest to set up. It took me about 20 minutes total my first time, with most of the time spent adjusting and securing the fly. I'm not sure this is really a flaw, but more of a testament to the complex and thorough design. It's time invested in making sure everything is secure and solid.

Overall, I think this is an excellent tent that is intelligently designed, well constructed, and slick looking. It's perfect for those wanting something a little sturdier than most other light-weight backpacking tents, but yet offers light-weight, breathability, and plenty of room for 2 persons.
