Been using on day hikes of 5 - 20 miles. While everything about these boots is great, the coolest thing I think is the way you can "lock" the laces at the ankle. This helps immensely with keeping toes from hitting the boot toe when going down, and also allows me to keep the front area fairly loose when going up. I used Meindl leather boots all summer up lots of mountains, but needed some good GoreTex boots for winter. These are going to be great.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
