I did an October camp trip in Michigan. The temps were about 40 degrees. The pad helped keep me warm with my sleeping bag only rated to 40 degrees. It was very comfortable to sleep on and it deflated well. The hand pump worked well, but it took more than 30 seconds to blow it up. The old fashioned way may be quicker. Also, when repacking the pad the hand pump makes it difficult to roll it flat. Not sure if the hand pump is worth the extra cost.

I use this air mattress for backpacking. Thought it's not the lightest, it's comfort and warmth easily make up for this. I'm a side sleeper, so no more sore hips. Unlike a popular brand, the tubes on this mat run from head to toe, so they don't collapse when you're near the outside edges. Also, there's extra width just where you need it around your shoulders and arms. The sticky surface of this mat doesn't let your sleeping bag slip off.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Awesome and warm

Comments about Light Pump Mat:

Very nice pad and toasty warm for cooler temps. Inflates very fast and an upgrade to the blow up type I just sold. The surface is grippy so our down bag doesn't slip off. It's light weight and packs up reasonably small. It's a bit pricey, but well worth it because it performs better than I expected.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
