Bought this rope as a first rope for my daughter. She mostly lead climbs but occasionally top ropes with it. The rope is durable, lightweight and has a good feel to it. Very happy!

a few issues with this rope

I purchased this rope because of good reviews on the internet and good price. Sterling ropes have a great reputation however this rope has a few issues. Under load the shape becomes irregular--flatter/ more oval--and now, after a dozen days of use, remains slightly misshaped even when not under load. The sheath shows abrasion wear more quickly than other ropes i've used. The sheath attracts and holds dirt more than other ropes. I still trust and climb on this rope--mainly sport and TR, and a little trad--but not as happy with it as I thought I would be.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
