      Comments about MTR 141 Shoe - Men's:

I already have a pair of Mammut Redburn hiking shoes which are awesome---great grip, great fit, and light but sturdy enough for a good hike with some gear. When I saw these Mammuts, I thought they would be a great addition to use for trail jogs with the dogs. Well, I was disappointed. The last on the Redburns is curved, and more anatomic. The 141's are not. I know from past experience that I size up a half size with Mammut, but these were still on the stingy side. I reasoned that they would stretch over time. More importantly, I've had them less than 3 weeks and worn them half dozen times, and already the uppers, just forward of the first lace in the toe box area, has started to delaminate. There are a couple of different fabrics/weaves going on in that area, and they don't seem to get along. Not good for a shoe at this price point.
On the plus side, these shoes have superior grip. Excellent traction on wet surfaces. I just wish they were made better.
Jason at Customer Service was exceptionally courteous and helpful. Once I explained the issue, he facilitated an RMA, etc. to send these back.
