Description

Winner of the Backpacker Magazine Editors' Choice Award. The Thermarest NeoAir Sleeping Pad sets a new standard for light-weight, 3 season air mats. At a mere 14 oz (Regular) and 2.5 inches thick, the NeoAir is the lightest 3 season pad that still retains a R-Value of 2.5. What does this mean? You still have a light-weight, compact pad that provides thermal protection from the ground. The internal baffles also function as a truss system that almost eliminates instability and provides the most comfortable air pad around. Comes in size Small, Medium, Regular and Large. Includes a repair kit. Stuff sack not included.

Comments about NeoAir Sleeping Pad:

Packs light and small. The height gives you comfort but also makes it easy to fall off because it is high, slippery, and narrow (I have the large). It is easy to get pin holes and you have to re-inflate every night even with no holes. It is also noisy to sleep on with everyone in the camp hearing you move. At this price it should come with a patch kit and storage sack but they make you buy them.

    Comments about NeoAir Sleeping Pad:

How did Thermarest do this? Very comfortable; Can be made from hard to soft. I usually sleep on my back. The horizontal tubes support all the nooks and crannies in the back. In a way I wish there was even a shorter version, like 36". Then my head would rest on my pillow (stuffed jacket) and my legs are on a kneeling pad (1oz) and backpack anyway. I use a quilt so my back is right on the pad. Usually within a few seconds I feel heat being radiated back up. Very clever design. For cold conditions, add a CCF pad on top.

This was a great deal at Campsaver. I will keep checking them out for more deals

Comments about Therm A Rest NeoAir Sleeping Pad:

I'm a big guy, 230 pounds, and I don't sleep well when camping. However, the Thermarest Neoair is amazingly comfortable. It's easy to blow up and compacts down nicely. I highly recommend it. And CampSaver saved me a ton of money and delivered it quickly.

      Q:

I am 5"6" --what size I am supposed to get?

        A:

The regular is 72 inches long and the small is 66 inches. The small would be an inch too short.

Answered on 10/8/2013 by Dallon - Gear Expert from CampSaver.com
      • A:

A size M bag measures 66 inches long so it would give you a precise fit to your height. If you prefer some extra room, a size R gives you 72" in length for an additional 6 inches. The packed size is the same for both sizes and the size R weighs only 1 ounce more than the M, so the additional space does not increase bulk or weight.

      Q:

What is the width of the large pad??? This page has two different widths for the large with one chart saying 25" and the bottom chart saying 20"... Are the other specs correct with a 77" length and 19oz weight??

        A:

Width is listed at 25 inches and 77 inches long. These are the correct measurements, though this pad has been discontinued. Currently we have only smalls in stock.

      • A:

The large NeoAir Sleeping Pad is 25" wide and 77" long. A large pad weighs 1lbs 3oz.

      Q:

Is the self inflating? How does it deflate?
Asked on 4/30/2012 by Anonymous from Abbotsford, B.C.

      • A:

Easy to deflate but takes an iron lung to fill. Much more air required than any pad I have had before.

        A:

The NeoAir is not self inflating. Inflation and deflation will happen through a nozzle at the corner of the pad.

      Q:

Does the NeoAir pad product line had a wieght limit? If so, what would that be?
Asked on 4/19/2012 by Logan Crest from Logan, UT

        A:

Weight limits have not been assigned to the NeoAir pads, though we do know that they are made to withstand a significant amount of pressure (you can sit on them sideways with the Jembe Seat kit). Should you get a hole in the product, Thermarest offers a Fast and Light Repair Kit.

      Q:

Whist is the difference between the neoair trekker and neo air?
Asked on 4/14/2012 by Jrpoubel from Brasil and Brooklyn nyc

      1 answer

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

The Trekker is made of a different surface material that is not as noisy as its predecessor. The original Neoair is lighter and has a slightly higher R-Value. It is an awesome pad, though the one complaint is the noise it makes when you move around on it. The Trekker is a slightly heavier, but it does not "crinkle" when you lay on it.
