Description

Patagonia built the Nomad for sustained backcountry hiking - it's indifferent to wet, slick terrain or foul weather. The full-grain leather upper has a Gore-Tex barrier and a bellows tongue. A dual-density recycled polyethylene/polyurethane insole affords lateral support on uneven surfaces, and the Vibram Ecostep (up to 30% recycled rubber) lug outsole keeps a steady grip, even on mixed terrain. An air-cushioning disk in the EVA foam midsole (15% recycled) also helps heel stability. The synthetic-cork footbed (70% recycled) has a carbon component with antimicrobial qualities; the fast-wicking, quick-drying Capilene lining has natural odor control. The leather meets Leather Working Group standards for environmental stewardship.
  • Bi-Fit dual-density insole board made from 100% recycled polyethylene/polyurethane provides support and stability underfoot
  • POLI-CORK? footbed is made from foam that's 70% recycled and has active carbon and cork bits to help combat odor and naturally move moisture
  • Quick-drying Capilene linings made from recycled material wick away moisture, keeping feet cool and comfortable
  • Medium width, full toe box, medium arch/instep
  • 1162 g (41 oz)
  • Made in China

Comments about Nomad GTX - Men's:

These boots were a little stiff at first, mainly around the ankle. I've worn them in over 20kms or so however and they've softened up nicely. I was concerned about the fit as I've a very wide foot, but although these aren't super wide, they are comfortable enough and seem to be molding to my foot nicely. They're very good looking, supportive, and comfortable on rough, rocky terrain. I'd read some reviews reporting faulty construction (eyelets dropping off etc) - but so far so good. I'm off to the snow for a week this winter and will put them through their paces - they look good to go. I've no reason not to recommend these boots most highly. Nice job Patagonia!

Comments about Nomad GTX - Men's:

I've been searching for a high-quality, light-weight, hiking boot that is compatible (color-coordinated) with my uniform. I've used the Vasque Sundowner GTX for many years. The Sundowner GTX is a better choice for front-country use because it can hold a "spit-shine." The Patagonia Nomad GTX is lighter, more flexible, and offers a more ergonomic fit.
