Comments about Penta Ease Tent 1-2 Person, 3 Season:

This tent goes under the Snow Peak Penta tarp, which is a sturdy tarp held up by one pole or paddle, with 5 grommet points staked down. The tarp by itself can have two adults under it, but the tent is strictly a one-man tent (although the pentagonal floor plan gives you a nice rear corner to put gear). The tarp (which is sold separately) acts as the rain fly, and the tent really should NOT be bought alone - it was dreamed up after the tarp was on the market and is basically a fancy tarp accessory. The great thing about the "Penta" system is that tarp/tent is set up using just a single pole/paddle plus a bunch of stakes; this is cute for the solo paddler out for solo camping. The tent is nicely made, but the sacrifice to the single pole/paddle design means that the walls are a bit saggy - fine for sleeping in, but a bit annoying to sit up in as your hair will be brushing the tent all the time. I love the tarp for a couple's beach shelter, and I like the tent as a convenient add-on for occasional solo ventures, but if I was a frequent solo camper I might look for a more traditional solo tent like the MSR Hubba or a Nemo.

I am concerned with how the product is advertised. The rain fly is sold separately, but this is not called out in the product information. To the contrary the copy reads that a fly is included... but the fly that was received with the tent was insufficient to cover more than a couple square feet. I returned the product unused.
