My first Osprey. I use it as a backpack for the city, carrying my laptop, books, gym stuff, snacks, water, pens and small other things.
It has a padded space for a laptop, an inside small mesh bag, an easy access outside zippered compartment, plus a vertical compartment on each side, all of which I have found useful.
I can see it as a very good day hike pack as well, but haven't used it as that yet.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Once again Osprey fulfills its reputation for excellence. Hands down one of the best backpack brands on the market. Worth every penny of investment even at full price! But at CampSaver the price is absolutely the best we could find!

The backpack does not look bulky when it is filled with books, binders, water bottle, lunch bag, and snacks! The straps are very comfortable because of its adjustable capability and horizontal straps across the chest and at the waist.
