I was in Oahu's north shore a few years when I came across a Patagonia store. I bought a hoody fleece that to this day, is even more comfortable and cozy to throw on. The full zip fleece has held up and kept its shape after MANY wash cycles. It's been the most durable and reliable fleece I've ever owned. My wife and daughter ended up buying their own fleece jackets after envying and borrowing mine.

The R1 jacket is extremely comfortable and well tailored to my frame. I'm 5'10, 178 lbs, and I wear a size 42 regular jacket. Sleeve length is perfect for my size and there's enough room in the torso to move around without having restrictions.

I purchased this jacket for layering beneath my soft and hard shell. It's quite thin therefore I don't plan to use this for extremely cold conditions, unless I have another layer to retain heat and prevent wind penetration.

The lifetime warranty on the jacket is extremely reassuring and definitely makes the price premium well worth it.

If you can pick up the jacket for around $120, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure and realistic about its intended use...just like anything else you buy.
