Comments about Raptor 6 Hydration Pack:

I use this bag as a daypack for mountaineering and thus I am required to carry survival gear ("the ten essentials") as well as minimal rain protection and insulation clothing. Although my stuff does fit in the pack, it does so barely - this despite having an ultralight philosophy to my gear. I had to severely trim down my survival kit and pack contents to a no frills state, and buy new, smaller items to get everything down to the bare minimum. I even went so far as to cannibalize my 14oz raincoat down to 10oz by cutting off the sleeves and cutting all pockets and tags out. Despite this, the pack is stretched to the limit and I fear the stitching will come loose at some point. The exterior stretch pocket might make you think that you could store a bunch more in it, but it is almost uselessly small and again, seems stretched to breaking point by simply shoving a rain jacket or rain pants in it.

The problem with this is, the bag is already heavy for what it is. While the new bladder seems to be a good idea, it is outrageously heavy, and I don't care what sort of comfort it provides, there is no reason it should weigh twice as much as a platypus. For something that weighs in at over 1lb 5oz, I expect it to be able to carry more. I have an Osprey 34 liter pack which weighs 2lbs solid and can carry five times the amount this bag can.. for only half a pound more.

Osprey is a good company and the bag is well-made, and the features are worthwhile. I like the included "tool kit" (eg 3 small mesh pockets in a foldable cover). This might be fine for you if you are simply using it for a bike ride or a quick jaunt around town, but this is not an ultralight pack suitable for any sort of serious hiking due to its severe size limitations. Yes, I understand it is only a 6-liter pack, but the stretch pocket should have definitely added more space to the picture and it simply doesn't.

That all being said, I would recommend larger capacity versions of the same pack. The 10-liter pack probably eliminates the problems I have and would be able to fit what you really need for a serious day-hike.
