Took this stove on its first trip and it proved itself. Weather conditions were 0 degrees and winds 40 to 50 mph at times. The stove performed perfectly. The only problem I had was getting it to light with the winds that were so strong. Would be nice if the stove had its own igniter but over all if your just boiling water you can not beat this stove. This is not a stove for cooking with a pan, just good for melting ice and snow and boiling water really fast.

Comments about Reactor Stove System:

This is a fantastic stove for shorter trips, petrol or kerosene stoves are more efficient for fuel weight on trips more than about 4 days. Great for snow melting and simpler food cooking (Short trips). Not much good for hunting trips where you may need to fry a piece of backsteak. A bit bulky and heavy for single person lightweight trips. A very very good stove for 2 person, fast and lite, shorter duration snow trips. Fast snow melting, water boiling in cold temps was a real advantage on my trips. Highly recommend this stove for the above use.
