I chose this knife with several key points in mind: it is compact enough to fit comfortably in my camping coat and cargo pant pockets. The sheath is sturdy and secure - important when you carry it on you while hiking through the woods. It has a strong clip, and the holes provided in both the sheath and the top of the knife handle make it a snap to attach it to something with a piece of cord to prevent loss.
That being said, it's also easy to locate when I do lay it down, due to the high-visibility yellow colour.
The absence of a sharply pointed tip makes it a lot easier to use this knife around small kids, which does a lot for my peace of mind since we usually backpack as a family.
I purchased this knife primarily to handle all-round tasks for a knife, and hadn't expected much from the toothed saw on the back of the blade. But having tried it out in the woods, I couldn't be more impressed. The little "saw" actually comes in handy to cut saplings etc. - neater and easier than breaking or chopping them off.
Great all-round outdoor knife... and I've also taken to keeping it in my pocket around home.
