I own several pairs of AKU boots, from approach shoes to mountaineering boots and can't think of anything bad to say about them. This boot is as close as you can get to a mountaineering boot while still working well at lower elevations on well worn trails. Fits like an approach shoe, but with toe room and lightweight enough that you won't get tired getting to the rocky off trail stuff. It has a firm upper that will take time to break in, but still comfortable. This is AKU's top of the line day hiker for fast paced hikes on almost any terrain. The price is high, but well worth it in the long run. My first pair of AKU's (Suiterras) are five years old and still solid and I still wear them. If you're a serious peak bagger, this is the perfect boot in my opinion. Worth giving them a try to see if they fit your foot type.
