I don't believe that Backpacker's Pantry makes a sub-par product, and the Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce is no exception. I have made the switch from the "other" guys and will never go back to them.

The only issue I have is that you have to be careful how spicy you eat when you're in the backcountry as "facilities" can be somewhat hard to come by, but all in all a great meal

The Backpacker's Pantry Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce is a yummy little dinner! When prepared it may not look all that amazing, maybe even weird, but it tases GREAT! The taste is amazing and it is sort of spicy, but really not too spicy. If you like spicy Thai food but you can't do that extremely spicy stuff (Thai food is some of the hottest on the planet!), this meal is for you! I really enjoyed the flavor, and the way everything was packaged inside the bag (there were other separate sealed packets inside the main bag) was smart and made preparing the meal feel more "real" than just pouring in hot water.

The only thing I would change about this meal is MEAT! If there were some chicken in this meal it would be absolutely perfect! So, only 4 stars from me… I WANT CHICKEN!

NOTE: When eating these meals at higher elevations DO NOT FORGET to follow the directions and add more preparation time per every 5,000 feet of elevation gain. I know you want to rip into that tasty meal, but if you leave it sealed for just several more minutes as directed, you will not be disappointed.

ALSO: You might want to get a long handled spoon for these type of meals… your fingers will get spicy peanut sauce all over them when you try to get that last bit out of the bottom, which may not be the best thing if you are backpacking in areas where you need to worry about animals getting after your food… and if you smell like food, that might be something to worry about.
