If you are into hiking or backpacking then these are perfect. They are small and lightweight and plastic and easy to clean. No you are not going to be able to cut a ribeye with it and they are not designed to be stew ladles. Yes they are a little short but if you are using dehydrated food packs, they are long enough for most packs to be able to stir all the way to the bottom including most 2 person meals.
My only complaint might be that the spoon is a little shallow and it could be deeper. It means smaller bites with soups and stews for sure.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Tough to really go wrong with such a cheap little backpacking utensil. I weighed my various backpacking spoons and forks and this is the lightest weight one I have. If you eat out of dehydrated meal bags frequently you might want the larger model so you don't have to shove your hand down in the bag but I usually eat from my pot so this is perfect.

For the price, How can you lose!!
Quality product, flexible but rigid also.
A little small but adequate.
A lot easier to keep track of one brightly colored utensil than a fork, knife and spoon.
The serrated edge is almost useless but I guess if you don't have a knife it would suffice.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
