There are conditions when my 6 ounce wp/b doesn't cut it. This jacket is made for those conditions. I would recommend this jacket for times when wearing, rather than packing, this jacket are expected.

The hood lives up to what we have come to expect from UK designs: simply excellent.

eVent with core zips makes a formidable package.

I appreciate the low-key solid color design. A refreshing alternative to shells that are designed for skiers or space-station patrol.

Used on a humid rainy xmas eve in the snowy Mountains in Australia. I huffed and puffed, maneouverng my camper trailer in 24C heat with pouring rain....the perfect test for what is supposed to be a highly breathable jacket...it passed with flying colours. 20 mins rest in the dry of the erected tent and I was back out into the rain and despite my thoughts of a damp inside to my jacket it was as dry as it was when I first put it on in the car.

A later walk to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko provided a mix of weather. At low altitude the warmth was easily vented with the very accessible side vents. These were easily zipped up when altitude, wind and moisture increased to provide perfect 100% waterproofing and that nice dry feeling inside too.

This jacket does everythng you read about and more.

This jacket is the bees knees! It arrived on time (thanks to Campsavers patience and creat customer service)in Australia for my xmas trip to the Snowy mountains. We arrived in Kosciuszko National Park on xmas eve to a barrage of warm air and heavy rain, a perfect trial. With wife left in the comfort of the car I began manoevering the camper trailer and opening up and pegging out, assembling the awning poles and creating our home for the xmas week. Not the easiest of tasks yet the jacket kept me dry both from the rain and myself throughout this hour long soaking. Needing to put the jacket on again only 20 minutes after removing it, I expected to see moisture from the previous use...but none there.

A walk to the top of Mount kosciuszko on a good day (at lower altitude) enabled me to make use of the side vents which worked very well indeed, easily accesible even with my back pack I was able to zip them up quickly and easily when the altitude, wind and moisture increased. The hood is well made and easily adjusted to suit any head with or without helmets, beanies etc. Again even with exertion I was drier in this jacket then any other I have worn previously. Can not recommend highly enough.
