Bought this for cub scout to use as he moves up to boy scouts. Very comfortable and warm. My older son has used the same one for a couple years without any trouble. Good value for the performance.

Comments about Synmat Basic Sleeping Pad:

In the twenty-two years that I've been backpacking, I have been slow to accept new products, thinking most of them are unnecessary. With regard to sleeping pads, I've always used inexpensive roll-up foam pads, but when air sleeping pads started getting popular, I gave them a try.

I picked the SynMat Basic for its price, weight, good R-value, thickness (not sure if 3" is better than other brands' 2.5", but I'm not complaining). Used it for the first time this weekend and I must say this was the most relaxing night on a tent that I've had - I did not wake up with any aches! I should have gotten one sooner. It would be nice if two units can be attached together by loops or velcro.

For now I'll give this 4 stars. Of course I need to know if this will last, i.e., won't loose air, easily puncture, etc. I'll need to do more testing.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
