I have had a lot of 3 layer gore tex jackets over the years working as a Pro Patroller. Uniform jackets by North Face and Marmot. I have until this jacket bought Patagonia hard shells for personal use. Got this Arteryx jacket in the fall. It used to be called the Alpha FL. It's the best shell I have ever worn. I like the minimalist close cut fit. I dont need multiple pockets. Until this jacket I would never use a hood. This hood is great. Sleaves are long enough for cycling. It's so light you can hardly tell your wearing a 3 layer Gore Tex jacket. It breathes incredibly well. This jacket is the best outdoor gear purchase I have made in years.
