I bought this as a compact shovel to keep in the trunk of my car. I got home two weeks after a 3-ft blizzard followed by freezing rain to find my driveway covered by a foot of hard-packed, refrozen snow. My regular shovels just bounced right off, but I used the Telepro T6 to methodically cut this mess up into ice blocks and remove them. Afterward my yard looked like an igloo construction site, but the shovel just had a few scrape marks.

It's lightweight and folds up small. I didn't use it to clear an avalanche, bit it was definitely worth the investment.

Only little bug is that the pins that hold the pieces together don't fit perfectly tightly into the holes. This makes the shovel rattle a bit when it's being used. This worried me a little when I started, but 3 hours later I realized it didn't make any difference in use.
