I purchased this item primarily for backpacking usage. I have not had the opportunity to use it for that purpose; however, I did get to use it during my latest car camping trip and loved it. I used this 5L sink to carry water back to the camp site where we used it for general water filtering and even washing purpose. When filled to the brim, I had no issues with the freestanding nature of this sink. Further to this, it stood with no spillage/issues even when half full, which did not expect after reading reviews from other users. My family and I were so impressed with this item that we are now looking to buy multiple units in the 10L version. The 5L version is good only as an individual use item; for group purposes, the 10L seems to be the sweet spot (balancing size vs weight). However, I am still glad that I bought the 5L version since I can see it being very useful for backpacking purposes.

I use this product to carry water from the spring source to camp. Then I can wash-up, fill water bottles & use Steri-Pen, cook, etc. as I please. It folds up very small and is self supporting or will hang from a peg. Can easily empty at night so it will not freeze up.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
