Awesome idea, missed the mark

Comments about Trinity Jacket - Men's:

First, it performs as advertised: lightweight and water resistant. I like this fabric because it is like a softshell, but hardshell performance. I took mine into the shower to see how well it performed and I didn't get wet, nor did the material wet out after 5 minutes.

That being said, it fits too small for layering as a hard shell. I couldn't put a fleece under this without it being too bulky and inhibiting my movements.

Since it is a "softer" material than say goretex pro, I would just use it like a softshell, or burly raincoat that doesn't making the swoosh and crinkle sound except the hood is HUGE. It swallows my head and I think it would do the same thing with a helmet too.

Overall, unless you can get in a store and try this on, I wouldn't recommend it. I ordered direct from campsaver.com and got it for a smoking deal, plus free shipping which is great when you live in Alaska. If you are climbing in warmer temps with rain possibility, then this jacket is for you.
