    Great pack but sweaty back

          Comments about Ultra Kompressor:

I love the look and versatility of this pack. It holds a ton. Hydration comparability is acceptable but not awesome as there is no clip for the drinking tube. The pack does seem to be extremely tough. My main complaint is the ventilation for my back. On a long slow summit push it isn't an issue but for higher aerobic activities such as xc/bc skiing, bikeing or a tough hike... my back gets drenched (even in below zero temps which can get un-comfy in a hurry when you stop moving).

Bottom line, for the price this is one heck of a summit pack. It moves well, carries my ice axe and doesn't interfere with my harness.

          Comments about Ultra Kompressor:

The Marmot Ultra Kompressor is a great lightweight backpack. I bought this piece of gear as something that I could fit into a large 55L pack for short excursions while backpacking.

So far, I have used it to carry climbing gear to and from the gym, and to that end it has been awesome. It has a top pocket for small items. I use this for my wallet, phone, keys, tape, knife, and pretty much any other small items that I have with me. The main pocket is more than big enough for a harness, fleece, shell, pants and a water bottle. I can even tuck my climbing shoes into the mesh on the outside. The mesh pockets on the sides are not big enough to hold a nalgene when the main compartment is stuffed full, however.

I've been really happy with this pack so far. I will be using it on a trip to Red Rocks for some multipitch climbs. I expect it to be great for carrying food, water and extra gear for our climbs.

          About Marmot

          Marmot
In April 1971, Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in Alaska's Juneau Icefield where the idea of a Marmot Club began. The name 'Marmot' refers to a group of highly social, large ground squirrels that live in mountainous areas. To become a Marmot, you had to climb a glaciated peak with another Marmot. That summer and over the next two years, Eric and Dave began making prototypes of down products in their dorm room in addition to establishing the Marmot Club. Marmot has grown quite a bit, but one thing has never changed: the commitment to designing the highest quality performance product. Marmot has become widely recognized as one of the premier outdoor gear and clothing brands in the world today.
