I got my first Ultra-Sil as a gift from my boyfriend. I love how useful it's been. I mostly use it as an overnight bag several nights a week. When we go camping, we each have our own which are perfect for our needs. We love the versatility of these bags and have 3 so far! :)

It can be a little tricky figuring out how to get it back in the pouch, but once you do, it's no problem at all. Just don't try to cram it all in. What I do is roll/fold it from the bottom up, then fold it in half, put it in the pouch, and then fold the ends in. Stuff it in and pull the draw string.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Used this pack recently on a 4-day hike of the Great Range in the ADKs. We added on two peaks as 1-mile out-n-backs off of the main trail. It was so nice to be able to ditch my 25lb pack and pull out this gem to carry water, snacks, shell and hat. The bag has no structure, and the ultra-sil fabric is paper thin, so it does not hold any shape, but I rolled my shell to provide structure.

Wow

Comments about Ultra-Sil Day Pack (1220 cu in):

Wow, is this ever a versatile bag. I carry it in a small purse all day till I need to whip it out for shopping. Or in the under-seat bag on my bike. Or as my peak-bagging bag on backpacking trips. I suppose the only downside is that it's not heavy-duty, so I'm reluctant to put more than ~12-15 pounds in it.
