I ski in the East, so temps with windchill can get really low (-30s). These mittens are a must. However, unless it's really cold, leave them at home. Even on a kinda cold day, they're too much once you start poling and moving. They are a little bulky, but when it's that cold, who cares?

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
