I chose this stove because it offered the ability to switch fuels to use whatever was available. This versatility means I can use the stove in a wide range of situations; from brewing a cup of tea after a long summit hike to burning gasoline as an emergency stove/heat source.

Actiually I wanted to buy gasoline stove for winter season. I think it is little bit uncomportable to use for normal season. so. i bought universal stove to choice the fuel whenever I need. I used this stove last week camping as gas mode. It is easy to adjust temperature. Also it is enought to hear the grill for BBQ. I like this stove so much.

Technology Used In The Whisperlite Universal Stove

Canister Stoves

Canister stoves include both a pressurized fuel canister and a burner that attaches directly to the canister which doubles as a support base. Because canisters come pressurized, and lack a pump mechanism, low fuel quantity or varying temperatures can affect the performance of the stove. Canister stoves also lack the efficiency of a liquid fuel stove due to the loss of heat caused by wind. For safety reasons, most top mount canister stoves are not compatible with wind screens. Price and ease of use are definite advantages of the canister stove when compared with liquid fuel stoves.

Liquid Fuel Stoves

Of all the available options, liquid fuel stoves offer the greatest efficiency regarding output and speed. Liquid fuel stoves include a detached fuel bottle, a pump mechanism and a burner with a pot support.�They are one of the best options for adverse weather conditions, because the pressure can be controlled and the detached burner can be shielded from weather by a windscreen. Many liquid fuel stoves are capable of burning a variety of fuel types, such as kerosene, diesel fuel, butane and others. Always check the manufacturer recommendations before using alternate fuel types.
