Comments about z30 Pack (1800 cu in):

This has turned out to be a perfect daypack for summer and winter use. It tightens down nicely for those small loads but can easily handle jackets and other bulky gear in the winter. The only real drawback is if you use a bladder, the bladder tends to stick into the center of the pack due to the curved back design. I just bunch up small stuff down behind it and it's no big deal. I love the hipbelt pockets, easy to access side pockets and the kangaroo pouch for stashing frequently used items. I do wish the kangaroo pouch stretched a bit more on the sides, but then it wouldn't keep my items as securely stowed. Weight is transferred to the hips nicely and the shoulder padding is comfortable. I love the ventiled back panel. Makes summer hikes a lot more comfortable.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
