The Lynx is packed with features and high quality. The Lynx, which has aluminum poles,is very similar to our Taurus, which is one of our best-selling tents. The Lynx has more mesh than the Taurus, taking up half of the walls on each side allowing even more ventilation. The tent is an easy to set up, 2 pole rectangular dome style tent with pole clips that easily fit over the poles for quick assembly. ALPS has not cut any corners... between the factory sealed fly and floor seams, weatherproof fly buckles, 2 doors for easy entering and leaving, 2 vestibules for extra gear storage and weather protection, and extra-large #8 zippers, you're sure to find everything you could want in a tent, in this model.

I purchased this tent because I own an Alps Taurus 6 Person tent and was so impressed with the quality and ease of set up that it only made sense to purchase the Alps Lynx 2 for my motorcycle camping trips.
The Taurus 6 proved to be well made and went through 3 intense thunder storms last summer and stayed completely dry and stable.
Have to figure the Lynx to do the same.

This was an amazing tent it did the job. the ventilation was great and so was the gear pockets. however the zip did get stuck occasionally though this wasnt a big problem. i would totally reccomend it for backpackers as it is also very light.

Great size and weight for the average backpacker.Lots of room for one hiker and gear. Also adequate room for two if storing gear in vestibule. Will probably still be to heavy and large(dimensions packaged)for the minimalist,but overall a bargain at the price.

I bought a earlier verions of this tent and liked it well enough to buy this one for my son. It has good rain protection and good quality poles and zippers. The order came in without any problems.
