These gloves have no insulation on the palm. There is insulation on the back. They seem to be water resistant but not waterproof. The size runs a bit small so order accordingly. I don't see using them for cold mountain ascents. There are probably better choices for this kind of money but these are solid and comfortable.

I wore these on some hikes a couple cold mornings, and also a couple days under larger gloves while snowboarding on some very cold days. I very much like having the option to take off my big gloves on the lift without my hands freezing, and though not amazingly accurate, they work well enough accessing an iPhone.
