The Proton Pant is designed to meet the dynamic needs of mountain pursuits and perform as a self-regulating midlayer or a stand alone pant for a variety of alpine activities. Air permeable Fortius Air 40 fabric gives weather resistance for protection in alpine environments. Octa Loft, clean finished, breathable insulation provides thermal protection while maintaining a comfortable micro climate. An elasticized waistband gives stretch and a precise fit. A zippered thigh pocket stores small items.

I got these in Medium and they fit true to size. These pants cover a lot of ground as a stand alone or layering pant. The side pocket offers storage for stand alone use and when Im layered up I dont notice it. I really like the waist band as it gives perfect control for tightness at the waistband. I do like these pants alot, as they are very warm, very lightweight, and fit great. But, since i use them more as an outer layer/ stand alone piece, i wish they would have added more pockets, and if possible, give them a little bit of stretch or flexibility. But i would get them again.
