The Beacons classic and functional design was inspired by two durable and lasting pieces that came before it. Its body shape and protective casing is influenced by the design of traditional fishermans lantern, often called the onion lamp. These lanterns served as fishermens primary source of light, and aided the crew in staying the course through even the most tumultuous of elements. Offering another source of inspiration for its body shape and directly influencing the inclusion of the carabineer top is the traditional coal miners lamp. Anchored throughout mining tunnels, these lanterns served as miners guardians as they worked through dangerous environments.
