My hands have always hurt from the cold while on the slopes. These mitts keep your hands warm in the windchills up to -20F. The use was perfect for a Vail/Keystone/Breckenridge trip in Jan. 2008. Warmest hand-covers I've every had. Thumb can still be chilly at 15 degrees, but fingers stay warm, and I almost always have cold hands. If you were active, I think they would be plenty warm down to single digits. Windproof. I have not tried them in the wet. Solid, quality construction.
