What can I say, it's a simple and reliable device that's been around forever. I don't use a figure 8 much but it's nice to have one and Black Diamond is top quality. Some improvements over a steel 8 are that it's smaller and lighter.

This is a great 8 for rappelling , it is small and it is not heavy , easy to carry and vey high quality the color is great because it does not get lost and is easy to find in your stuff , every climber needs and 8 and this is a great one
