When fishing with multiple rods or while the rod is in a rod holder it is not possible to keep your bail open and your finger on the line. This ingenious release is designed for open bail fishing. The drop back release acts as your finger to release the line when the fish hits the bait. Tension screw allows for fine tuning of line release tension. Gives a clean release when fish strikes.
